Made my first mistake

Just signed up to this most esteemed of all weblog sites, lost my (one and only) opportunity to create a welcome message. Maybe as time goes by, and I become older and wiser, I will find out how to do it again.

Hey! a question - does this software include a spell checker? Until recently I thought it was something only witches used. I mean, earlier, I was trying to spell the word bureau, had to resort to the low tech alternative. Couldn't figure out if it started with 'be' or 'bu' and it took longer than 0.18sec Did find the word "bugger", though, and that about sums it up.

You could have just posted this under the category "Welcome." It would have had the exact same effect as leaving a welcome message. I too got caught unawares at having to leave an initial message. Rather than miss my opportunity, I wrote a quick article entitled "Wow -- They're Making Me Type Crap --or-- I Wasn't Prepared For This You Bloody Bastards!"

I sometimes use Google as a quick and dirty spell checker. Just type in the word in question and see if Google suggests a revised spelling ("Did you mean XXXXX?"). You can also use Google as a dictionary. Type "define:" before a word and it will. For instance Click to define:bureau
